Rural and Wildlife CrimeThis is the "default" operation for the Rural Specials and addresses the concerns and impact that rural, wildlife and heritage crime has on our rural areas.
Officers work in partnership alongside neighbouring police forces, farmers, landowners and various other external agencies, making use of the local knowledge they have. This Operation has recently widened to include other forces facing similar problems. Officers from South Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and as far away as Staffordshire have been included in past deliveries of Operation Bifocal. Offences identified have included the seizure of firearms possessed in a public place. The prosecution of offenders for night time trespass for taking of game or rabbits. Numerous vehicles being seized for no tax or insurance and quads which have been seized after they were reported as riding on farm land. Other offences such as drink driving and no car tax have also led to arrests and the seizure of vehicles. |
